CONVERTING CD ROM DRIVE TO AUDIO CD PLAYER
Testing
Circuit Diagram with Parts list

Notes
- For car stereo applications you don’t need the transformer, rectifier and the 7812 regulator. 12V will be available from battery. You just need to produce a 5V from it using a 7805 based regulator. Connect the corresponding voltages to the connector as shown in figure 1 and connect the connector to drive.Done.
- The amplifier for the car audio CD player must be one operating from 12V.
- Do not connect the voltages to CD ROM drive in wrong polarity.Double check the voltages using a multimeter. Wrong polarity could easily damage the drive.

Using LV47011P car audio amplifier Diagram Circuit
This LV47011P car audio amplifier electronic project will provide a maximum 22 watts output power per channel on a 4 ohms load using a 14,4 volts DC power supply at 1% THD .
In same conditions , this car audio amplifier electronic circuit project will provide 29 watts output power at 10% THD .
This IC incorporate various functions (standby switch, muting function, and various protection circuit) necessary for car
audio system and also, it has a self-diagnosis function.
For pop noise prevention, it is recommended to use the muting function at the same time when the amplifier is turned on.
When the amplifier is turn off, turn off the power supply after turning on the muting function .
The muted state is obtained by setting pin 22 to the ground potential, enabling audio muting.
The muting function is turned on by the applied voltage of 1V or less to the resistance of pin 22. And the muting function is turn off when this pin opens.
The circuit is packaged in a Sanyo HZIP 25 package and must be heat sinked , to prevent the damage due to over heating .

1W BTL Audio Amplifier Diagram Circuit
Circuit diagram:
Using a 5-V supply and an 8-W loudspeaker, an output power of 1 watt can be delivered. The volume control has an attenuation range of between 0 dB and 80 dB in 64 steps set by the 3-state level at the UP/DOWN pin: floating: volume remains unchanged; negative pulses: decrease volume; positive pulses: increase volume Each pulse at he Up/DOWN pin causes a change in gain of 80/64 = 1.25 dB (typical value). When the supply voltage is first connected, the attenuator is set to 40 dB (low volume), so the gain of the total amplifier is then –20 dB. Some positive pulses have to be applied to the UP/DOWN pin to achieve listening volume. The graph shows the THD as a function of output power. The maximum quiescent current consumption of the amplifier is specified at 10 mA, to which should be added the current resulting from the output offset voltage divided by the load impedance.

10 W Audio Amplifier Rise
As amplifiers of this kind are frequently used to drive small loudspeaker cabinets, the bass frequency range is rather sacrificed. Therefore a bass-boost control was inserted in the feedback loop of the amplifier, in order to overcome this problem without quality losses. The bass lift curve can reach a maximum of +16.4dB @ 50Hz. In any case, even when the bass control is rotated fully counterclockwise, the amplifier frequency response shows a gentle raising curve: +0.8dB @ 400Hz, +4.7dB @ 100Hz and +6dB @ 50Hz (referred to 1KHz).
Notes:
- Can be directly connected to CD players, tuners and tape recorders.
- Schematic shows left channel only, but C3, C4, IC1 and the power supply are common to both channels.
- Numbers in parentheses show IC1 right channel pin connections.
- A log type for P2 will ensure a more linear regulation of bass-boost.
- Do not exceed 18 + 18V supply.
- Q3 and Q4 must be mounted on heatsink.
- D1 must be in thermal contact with Q1.
- Quiescent current (best measured with an Avo-meter in series with Q3 Emitter) is not critical.
- Set the volume control to the minimum and R3 to its minimum resistance.
- Power-on the circuit and adjust R3 to read a current drawing of about 20 to 25mA.
- Wait about 15 minutes, watch if the current is varying and readjust if necessary.
- A correct grounding is very important to eliminate hum and ground loops. Connect to the same point the ground sides of J1, P1, C2, C3 &C4. Connect C9 to the output ground.
- Then connect separately the input and output grounds to the power supply ground.

150W Audio Power Amplifier
For an amplifier with 150 Watt in power, may be this is the cheapest one . This amplifier schema built based on two Darlington power transistors TIP 142 and TIP 147, this schema can deliver a blasting 150 W Rms to a 4 Ohm speaker.
TIP 147 and 142 are complementary Darlington pair transistors which can handle 5 A current and 100V, famous for their ruggedness. Here two BC 558 transistors Q5 and Q6 are wired as pre amplifier and TIP 142, TIP 147 together with TIP42 (Q1,Q2,Q3) for driving the transistors. This schema is designed so rugged that this can be assembled even on a common board or even by pin to pin soldering. The schema can be powered from a +/-45V 5A dual power supply. You must try this schema. Its working great.
Notes:
- Remember TIP 142 and 147 are Darlington pairs. They are shown as coventional transistors in figure for ease. So don’t get confused. Even though each of them have 2 transistors, 2 resistors and 1 diode inside, only three pins, base emitter and collector are coming out. Rest are connected internally. So its quite OK to assume each of them as transistor for ease.
- Use a well regulated and filtered power supply.
- Connect a 10K POT in series with the input as volume control if you need. Not shown in schema diagram.
